Peace March – Bapu’s 71st Death Anniversary
Violence in India is terrible we are surrounded by violence all the time. Everyone is a victim of violence and it can be of any form like- Physical, Mental, Oral etc. Violence has significant impact in the development. Gandhi Ji was a strong follower and supporter of non-violence. According to him, non-violence is both a principle and a practice. Grassroot Empowerment and Development by Youth works on non-violence as one of the focus area, and is directly related to our mission and vision to create just and sustainable society.
GEDY organized a Peace March from Hanuman Mandir, Civil lines to Balson Chauraha, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of the Shanti March was to make the point that nonviolence is well alive in this violent world and also to pay tribute to Father of our Nation. Total 15 Participants joined the March. It got appreciation and good media coverage. The Peace March ended with offering Suti Mala to Gandhi Ji Statue.
