Effect of Labor Migration on Democracy –Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu

Grassroot Empowerment and Development by Youth has organized a workshop for migrated labour from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Orrisa and West Bangal. And to know the Effect of Labour Migration on Democracy at Youth Gallery, Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
As we know Migration contributes to the circulation of goods, knowledge, and ideas. When people cross borders, they are exposed to new knowledge, ideas and institutions. National migration can therefore change individuals’ attitudes and beliefs, including political preferences. Indeed, sociologists and other social scientists have shown that living abroad can be a transformative experience for the migrant. Less attention has been paid, however, on how these experiences spill over to migrants home communities and affect the political behavior of those who stay behind There are around 55 members from different construction sites. The session includes a brief lecture on effects of migration, problem solving sessions end the workshop end by vote of thanks.
