Shri Vijay Kumar Joshi

He began his career as a Geologist in 1965 with Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, and worked on groundwater issues of several states, including Uttar Pradesh. In 1968, he joined Geological Survey of India (GSI) and superannuated as Director (Selection Grade), Northern Region, G.S.I. in 2001. During the course of his surveys, he has worked extensively in the Himalayas, especially in J&K, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand. In addition, he worked throughout the length and breadth of the country, studying pre-historic environments of the Earth. After superannuation, he took up freelance writing and journalism as his next profession and has till date published about 2000 articles in almost all leading newspapers and magazines of the country and abroad. He writes both in Hindi as well as in English. Till date, he has penned six Radio drama scripts for AIR, two books on Nuclear Science and Isotopes (Hindi) for children, Architecture of Uttar Pradesh for Bennett Coleman & Co., two historical novels, translated three books Poorv Peethika, Deval Devi and Narendra Modi the Global Leader from Hindi to English. Currently occupied with translation of a storey book The Time Machine, Homo sapiens View. In addition, he has given innumerable lectures to students on Environment and related issues.
